When you ask for meals, we collect the name of the person who will receive them, a phone number, the delivery address, which weekly plan you are interested in, and whether you would like weekend meals. If you are asking on someone else's behalf, we also collect your name and how you are related to them, because you are usually the person we talk to about billing.

We also ask the date of birth of the person who will eat the meals, because the program exists for people who can no longer cook for themselves, and we ask about marital status and who else lives at home, because our driver needs to know who can receive a meal. Gender is optional and you may decline it. None of these questions is a health question.

You can tell us about food allergies and about foods this household does not eat. We record what you tell us so our kitchen and our driver can see it. It is not a medical record and it is not a promise: we cook one menu for everyone, so please also tell us by phone when an allergy is serious.

You can tell us about delivery or communication needs, for example to knock loudly or to call on arrival. We keep only what helps our driver at the door and our team on the phone. We do not ask for and do not store medical information, diagnoses or health records of any kind.

When you sign up as a driver, a volunteer, a donor or a partner organization, we collect your name, your phone number, your city, your email address if you give one, and anything you choose to write in the message field.

An email address is optional everywhere on this site. If you would rather we only called you, leave it blank.

This website sets no cookies. It has no analytics, no advertising trackers, no social media pixels and no third party scripts of any kind. Nothing on these pages reports your visit to anybody.

Even the fonts are served from this website itself, so reading a page here does not tell another company that you were here.

To work out whether we can serve you, to plan and make deliveries, to bill the monthly plan, to keep the records a program like ours has to keep, and to talk to you about your participation. That is the whole list.

The driver bringing your meals sees your name, your address, your phone number, any note about what to do at your door, and any food allergy or restriction you told us about. They do not see anything about billing.

Companies we pay to run the technology: website hosting, the database that holds these records, and the service that sends our email. They act on our instructions and may not use your information for their own purposes.

We never sell your information, we never rent it, and we never hand it to advertisers. The only other case is a disclosure required by law or by a court order.

For as long as you take part in the program, and after that only as long as our own records and reporting require. If you ask us to delete your information and nothing requires us to keep it, we will delete it.

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Call the corps at 310-318-2827, or come by 125 W. Beryl Street during office hours, and we will take care of it.

California residents have specific rights over their personal information, including the right to know what is collected about them and to ask for it to be deleted. The same phone number and the same address are how you exercise those rights with us.

The program serves adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, call us and we will remove it.

Records live in a database that is not open to the public. Staff reach it only after signing in with a one time code sent to their work email, and only if they are on a staff list we maintain. Removing someone from that list takes effect immediately.

If we change this page we will change the date at the top, and a change that matters will be explained here rather than slipped in quietly.
